It is with regret that the Dances of Universal Peace scheduled for Sat, Oct 18, 2014, 7-9 p.m. in St. Paul are cancelled. All of the local dance leaders are either out-of-town attending dance leader training in Des Moines, attending the Pir Zia workshop in Madison, or have personal commitments.
Here are some local dance circles and special events coming up that you can jot in your calendar:
- Sat's, Oct 25 & Nov 8, 7-9 p.m. at the Light Upon Light Sufi Center in Minneapolis. (see the details for the regular 2nd & 4th Sat Dances in So. Minneapolis)
- Sat, Nov 15, 7-9 p.m. at Saint Mary's Episcopal Church (see the details for the regular 3rd Sat Dances in St. Paul)
- This weekend Pir Zia, the grandson of Hazrat Inayat Khan, is going to be in Madison. The Dances of Universal Peace trace their lineage back to Hazrat Inayat Khan, as does the Sufi Ruhaniat International, which is the sufi order associated with the Dances of Universal Peace. Pir Zia is the current head of the Sufi Order International. The link to the flier for the event is here.
- The Annual Rumi Celebration with Rumi poetry, singing with the Wild Moon Bhaktas, and Dances of Universal Peace is rumored to be sometime in mid-December in south Minneapolis. Stay tuned for more details.
